As a collection point for South West Galvanizers of Crediton, we offer a galvanizing service. We can also collect and redeliver to you the customer if required.

Tuesday - Material is required to be at SJ Andrew & Sons by 5pm on Monday for Tuesday collection by the galvanizers with the goods being returned to SJ Andrew the following Tuesday.

All orders are required to have paperwork (drawings with dimensions of items for identification), be clean and free from rust, paint and all other coatings and suitably vented. .

The Process
Material is immersed in molten zinc at a temperature of around 450 degrees until the temperature of the work is the same as the Zinc. During this process the molten zinc reacts with the surface of the steel to form a series of zinc/iron alloys, all parts of the surface of the steel are coated - inside, outside, awkward corners, and narrow gaps which would be impossible to protect in any other way.

The process is relatively simple, straightforward and closely controlled. The thicknesses (weights) of coatings formed are regular, predictable and simply specified. Galvanizing is one of the few coatings which is completely defined by a British Standard (BS EN ISO 1461). Please phone for details & costs (premium turnaround is available at extra cost).
